Coping Skills for YOUR Child. How important are those skills? Very, very important in today’s school environment. The standards and expectations for today’s students are really high. Also, both in academic and extracurricular activities. Math that I studied in 10th grade is now in 8th grade. Stay ahead of the curve of what is going on in education. It is important both as the parent and the child. Make sure that their course load is manageable. If you have a high achiever help choosing classes so not overload. If underachiever has a few classes that could help the challenge.
Coping Skills for YOUR Child.
Anxiety and stress can affect YOUR child’s sleep. Also, it could affect their mood and temperament. So be aware of how your child is coping with their daily schedule. Pay attention, it is YOUR job to know. Help your child to develop and cultivate a healthy life balance. And, this is what YOU the parent want too.
Plan some events that can take the stress away. However, do not make it too hard, like a family baseball game. Or, have a neighborhood game day. Do something special with the neighbor’s families. School and developing are high stressors in today’s environment. Help them learn these coping skills as they grow.
As a parent, YOU know how stressful life can be. YOUR child is not only developing, learning to become independent but having to cope. Keep on a lookout for signs of stress. Talk about stress, how some activities can release some stress or a funny movie, family game.
Take time to know what and how YOUR child is doing daily. And, then you will know how they are dealing with stress. YOU are their rock and their stability. YOU have been there yourself so be strong and courageous for them.
