YOUR child is in constant transition
YOUR child is in constant transition. Constant transition starts at birth. They are growing and developing every day. Information and knowledge are constantly going into their little brains. We hope, as parents, that the majority of that information and knowledge is positive and intelligent. There should be limits to TV, social media, and knowing their friends. These can all have a negative influence on YOUR child. It is your job to continually monitor their friends. I know you are busy with work or running a household but take the time.
Today is great, tomorrow may be bad for YOUR child.
YOU are their support system and be strong and courageous for them. However, your problems should never be put on the shoulders of YOUR child. Keep your issues to yourself, money, relationships, and any trauma. These are adult issues and not to be transitioned to YOUR child. Also, take the time for yourself so as not to transfer to the child.
Use very few negative words as they Develop
Every word you say to YOUR child is taken in by them. So choose YOUR words carefully. Also, use as many positive words as possible. And your child will mimic everything you do, so choose wisely. Look and act with confidence. Because that is how the child will look and act. Also, do not be passive or aggressive, learn to stay assertive.
As YOUR child develops they should want to learn and gain knowledge. However, they need to be motivated and have expectations for themselves. Learning and having high self-expectations should be their GOAL. As they are changing each day they are also gaining in knowledge. That is a good thing for a young person. Challenging the child is good. Setting high expectations is good. If they have trouble with any classes they may need a tutor. But, in the end, they need some of these harder classes, math or science for their future.
