Traits of a Healthy Family and More

Spread the love

Traits of a Healthy Family written by Dolores Curran. We are going to expand this book by talking about families that is everyone you and your child are connected to. I told my children after the divorce that we 3 were a family, one for all and all for one. But, we are going to take some of the book’s information also here on this Blog. And YOU know what traits are for your healthy family also.

Ms. Curran did a survey of professionals who worked with families and here is a list of 15 items that they thought made up Healthy Family.

Traits of a Healthy Family

Communicates and listens

Affirms and supports one another

Teaches respect for others

Develops a sense of trust

Has a sense of play and humor

Exhibits a sense of shared responsibility

Teaches a sense of right and wrong

Has a strong sense of family in which rituals and traditions abound

Balance of interaction among members

Has a shared religious core

Respects the privacy of one another

Values service to others

Fosters family table time and conversation

SHares leisure time

Admits to and seeks help with problems

Those are from the book but my belief is more than those 15, which are good but there are more.

YOU are unique and YOUR child is unique. Know yourself and your children should know themself. Take care of SELF first and be kind to yourself and believe in yourself. YOU can only take care of others when YOU are at YOUR best. Best in mental health and best in body health.

Traits of a Healthy Family

Always go big and develop into that person you want to be and your children you want them to be. Be proud and be assertive on your journey. Be kind and be persistent as you go along in life. But, mostly be kind to YOU.

Win-Win Attitude for YOUR Child.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance”
between superb usability and visual appearance.
I must say you’ve done a great job with this. Additionally,
the blog loads super quick for me on Safari. Outstanding Blog!

Wonderful site you have here but I was curious about if you knew of any user discussion forums that cover the same
topics talked about here? I’d really like to be a part of group where I can get feedback from other experienced people that share the same interest.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

    Kudos!
