If YOUR child is starting Kindergarten through Senior help them start their first Mission Statement. As they develop and age they will be able to write their own Mission Statement. Have them write one for every school year. It will help them to keep focused on their goals for their school year. And it will also help in their brain development, which is so important.
What is YOUR Mission Statement?
Here are some things that make up a good Mission Statement. Have confidence in YOU and everyone around you. Be kind, courteous, and respectful to yourself and all the people around you. Set reachable goals and never lose sight of these goals. Appreciate your differences and everyone around your differences.
Fads come and go over the years. A fad 30 years ago will come around again. These things are out of your control. Discover what you are good at and then do all you can to become an expert at that one thing. Learning a lot of things as you go. Reading as much as you can, not fiction but non-fiction and biographies, and autobiographies.
The only thing you can change is YOU, never anyone else. Always remember YOU are in control of only YOU.
Make time to help others that are less fortunate than you. YOUR actions talk louder than words, remember that.
Set your goals for the school year that inspire you and encourage you but that is also reachable for you. Take some outside activities that give you new information and that may help other people. Set a schedule of TV time and electronic equipment time. These things are useful if used in limited time. They may affect your brain development also. There is always research on new things and effect on the brain.
