Brain Development of YOUR Child. Brain development starts 16 days after conception and does not fully develop until mid-twenties or thereabout. So, what goes on with the parents and in the environment that surrounds this child their brain will be affected. From parental stress, the environment, and the foods they eat. We use to not have to worry about the water, food, and the soil or air being contaminated. That is not the case today, because all should be a concern to the parent.
Brain Development of YOUR Child.
I was married to an alcoholic while the children were little. Although I worked hard on not letting that stress affect the children’s daily lives I am sure it did. I have asked them as an adult and they said they did not feel this stress. Before I got the divorce I am sure at that time it had an effect on each of the 3. That divorce, any divorce, creates trauma in a child.
By trauma, it means a person disconnects somewhat from themselves to handle their daily life. The child may think it is their fault or they do not know what is going on. I tried very hard to make the child’s daily life as smooth and as stressless as possible. It still had an effect on each differently. The 3 children were 6 years apart. The oldest was closest to his father and had the hardest time, the other 2 were closer to me and it went somewhat smoother for them. Each child is affected by any divorce differently. If you do not get over and move on after a divorce, YOUR children will not get over or move on. And this does not help in their development. YOU, the parent, has to move on and develop into YOUR Higher Self. But in my next blog, I will continue about trauma with a child who started drinking at 13.
