It helps if the child starts as young as possible for making lists. When my grandson comes for a visit we make a list. I am sure his Mother always has a list to go by. And that is why Gage is good at making list and checking the list off when complete. He has been used to making lists since he was in elementary school. It is a natural thing for him now. But a child gets into any habit very fast and soon. If you are sitting and watching TV all day that is what your child will do. And if you are working and being productive that is what your child will do. But getting them to actually write out a list and check it off is a great thing as they go into Middle School
“To – Do” List.
Being a successful adult means being structured and time management. The young your child can learn this the better they are going into MIddle School. Be that role model in time management. And you are building YOUR child a road map when you re their role model.
There are so many distractions in today’s environment. Please be careful about how you act and react to anything because your child is watching you. If you watch TV, make it for only 1 hour. If you have a drink, make it 1 drink. Do not spend time on your phone, texting or facebook when the time is with your child. It reflects on you and you are putting those things before YOUR child. Be careful and be aware of what you do and say. It makes a tremendous difference to YOUR child. And it could be causing trauma for YOUR child if you are not careful. Because everyone has trama in their life. But you may not realize what your negligence can do to YOUR child.
