YOUR child needs to know what is coming up in their next school year – it is called Planning and having expectations.
There are wonderful websites that let you know what is expected from Pre-K through 12th Grade for every year. Find out, plan, let YOUR child know the fundamentals of what the school year is going to be like.
YOUR child will develop in the following areas when planning is done:
Making good choices
All those good things that will grow into a wonderful adult. Becoming an adult does not just automatically come about with just a parent and school. An adult comes about with parenting and that parent’s guidance on all things, including school. The school is not in control of YOUR child – it is YOU that is in control and in charge of YOUR child.
The more YOU plan along with your child the less:
Proactive is a very good attribute – if YOU are always waiting for something to happen or YOU let the day control YOU –
Here is a website that has some of what is expected of YOUR child from Pre-K through 12th grade. Be prepared and have YOUR child prepared
Know expectations for your child – have them ready for their next grade and on their journey.
There is a lot of stress in a child’s life in today’s school and community environment. If they know you are on their side in preparing them for the next thing up it will lessen their stress and give them confidence.
Keep a notebook with what is expected this year and what will be expected next year. If they are having trouble with any subject get them help before they get in over their head and fail a class.
Challenge them to take classes that may make them feel uncomfortable but that in their long-term will be beneficial for their long-term learning and their future.
Reading is so important
Math is critical
Writing is critical
So much and a lot of schools do not emphasize the above courses.
YOU should emphasize the above courses even if the school does not.
